The 2015 Wedding Season Is Officially In Full Swing

Trista and Sam’s Rustic country wedding took place in Ridgefield Washington at Lucy’s Garden.

Lucy’s is nestled in the heart of Ridgefield, Washington on five acres of family owned and operated property that features a large and luscious garden with  a charming water feature and pond, a dazzling landscaped yard and gazebo, and an amazing big red party barn that is the highlight of the event experience.  Lucy’s Garden sets itself apart from most other event facilities because of the vast flexibility the venue has in creating a unique and personal theme for each and every event.

Trista is an avid quilter so she carried the theme thru in all the décor. Her bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and centerpieces were a combination of White Peony, Dusty Miller, Purple Matsomoto Asters, Lavender Roses, Blue Belladonna, Thistle, Green Hydrangea, Limonium, Wax Flower and of course Baby’s Breath. All the pieces were wrapped in quilting fabric strips that Trista provided.

We also used a combination of painted tin cans, beer bottles with chalk writing for the table names and fabric squares to reflect the same home spun charm.

The day turned out to be an unexpected sunny day and an equally wonderful and unexpected surprise to see this venue for the first time.

Hopefully, not the last…..

Congratulations to Trista & Sam on getting hitched!

We’re Bringing in the New Year, But Definitely NOT Saying Good Bye to the Old!

This year more than ever vintage, antique, and OLD items are bigger than ever. I’m sure that florists all over are kicking themselves for getting rid of their Milk Glass bud vases and containers that were collecting dust on the shelves. I went on a little shopping trip to get some inspiration for the blog and found so many fun supplies and décor items that we can share with our customers this coming year.

  • Containers, Bottles, and Jars – Distressed painted containers are in and so cute! I love all the colors and shapes they are available in. These will be a great addition to an outdoor wedding or event for that rustic feel. Mason jars and bottles are available in jewel colors offering more choices than just the clear or blue Ball Jars.
  • Ribbons – OMG! Cotton, burlap in all colors, plaids and of course lace, there are so many choices and ways to use them. Incorporated into bouquets, centerpieces, and alter arrangements, the textures create the vintage and outdoor look.
  • Buttons – Buttons are just so cute and add that element of charm to any item.
  • Laces – This year lace is huge… dresses, invitations, cakes, favors, tablescapes, even manicures.
  • BURLAP! – Burlap will be bigger and brighter, now available in wide widths, making it possible to make tablecloths, runners, backdrops, covered pots, vases, candle holders, pillows, frames, and lamp shades. Nothing new would surprise me with this burlap trend.
  • Old Props – Don’t forget our Ceremony Doors for rent….

We are really looking forward to talking with our clients and seeing what they will be doing with all these fun and romantic ideas.
